TELL ME MORE: Who's idea was this, anyway?

OUR FUN EVENT FORMAT AND RULES: The Palisades High Dolphin-a-thon will be a one club tournament (P Wedge or 9 iron) It will be a shotgun format which means up to 72 players will all start at the same time from different holes. This makes for a fast, fun format for everyone. We will be playing traditional golf rules...with a few acceptions. Since this ball floats...If you land in the water...you have to hit out.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE: Thanks to the ASB, the irreverant Off-Course Golfers Association and the revolutionary safe almostGolf ball, we can now play golf through campus safely. (See map below)

OUR EVENT GOALS: The goal of the tournament is to help raise needed funds for every club and team on campus. We are doing this by taking the traditional golf fundraiser, leaving the golf course and adding music, picnic parties and community atmosphere that can only happen when you are not playing with a traditional dangerous golf ball.

'FUN' RAISING MORE DOLLARS: How can you or your team raise more money. It's important to note that you are only asking for a dollar or two a hole from your supporters. That makes raising money easy. The first annual Dolphin-a-thon is open to every student, or team that wants to raise money for their separate programs. If you are on a team but will not be playing, you can always raise money for your team members playing. Then come game day you can come out and cheer them on. We encourage every player to also ask every supporter they have for their club or organization to help. It's amazing how many 'yes's' you can get when all you are asking for is a dollar a hole.

WHO IS THE OCGA: The Off-Course Golfers Association was started at the end of 2008 by Robert Peterson. As founder of almostGolf LLC and the inventor of the off-course safe almostGolf ball, it became clear that this ball could break the 'safety barrier' and leave the golf course. As a result, the OCGA was created to help schools and organization raise money for their schools and clubs through low budget, highly social, off-course golf events through their own parks, neighborhoods, school campuses. The great part about it was that instead of paying the golf course the lion share of the money raised, schools can now keep a majority of their funds...because it's their venue. How cool is that.

THE OFF-COURSE VISION: As a result, our mission is to develop tournaments, pioneer new course designs and help schools, teams, organizations, and individuals create off-course events for fun or fundraising.

If you would like to know how you can create your own events. Sign up for our newsletter, become a member of our association, then give us a call. The only limits we have is our own creativity.
